Tanner Excavating President, Tony Tanner, began his career as a laborer for a local excavation company and worked his way through various positions including, Operator, Foreman, Grading Foreman, and Excavation Manager. Tony has experience managing multi-million dollar projects, including multi-family and residential developments, commercial projects, street utilities, city parks, demolition, and residential homes.  Tony has over 18 years of extensive field and shop experience that built the foundation of the company.

Vice-President, Ellie Tanner, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Organizational Communications. Ellie began her career as an Executive Assistant for a local developer who owned multiple entities in various industries, including real estate, construction, excavation, property management, and pipeline restoration. Over the next eight years, Ellie transitioned into the Business Office Manager and then Controller for the companies. In these positions, she gained invaluable experience in human resources, accounting, contracts, budgeting, cash flow, proformas, financial policies and procedures, and month-end reporting. 

Tony’s extensive field experience and Ellie’s office and accounting knowledge began the formation of Tanner Excavating in 2017. Since the start of the company, they have experienced substantial growth and expansion into all facets of excavating.
